"Pyrenean #1"

I was commissioned by the Pyrenean Mountain Dog Club of Great Britain to produce three limited edition prints. This initial drawing and the second were intentionally small studies leading up the release of the major study in their Golden Jubilee year.

I did not know the breed at this time and worked predominantly from images supplied by the club. The setting is largely imaginary but based on actual scenes, but the sheep are of the authentic Pyrenees type.

The print (as shown here) failed to do the original any justice by losing most of the finer detail. I changed to a new printing company soon after.

The original drawing took 31 hours to complete and is now in a private collection in the USA.
